Post Office Roof Repair, Penistone, Barnsley
Despite being partly re-foofed a few years ago by another company, Penistone Post Office was still getting substantial water ingress*.
It was decided that the best solution – in agreement with the client – was to carry out a complete re-roof.
When we stripped the roof we found that all the debris from the previous job had been left within the roof voids. As a result we had to carefully remove and dispose of this, a task that was made more difficult because of the location on Penistone High Street with narrow paving.
There were rotten timbers that needed to be replaced along with inadequate insulation which we upgraded to comply with building regulations.
A building application was submitted by us prior to commencing the work to Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council and a completion certificate sent to the customer.
*Water ingress, also known as penetrating damp, is when water enters a building and causes damage.
